The Phoenix Project

Near the beginning of 2003 we at Mastercraft started an effort to improve our culture by discussing our core values. This process was dubbed “The Phoenix Project” by Owner/CEO John Lannan.

It was decided by process of discussion and ultimately a vote that the three main core values of Mastercraft are: Teamwork, Enthusiasm/Can-Do-Attitude, and Strive for Excellence. Off-site meetings, first with the staff group and later with the entire company, helped us to introduce and understand these core values and how they relate to everything that happens relating to Mastercraft.

These core values are designed to focus our energies on those things that are most important to the bettering of Mastercraft. Increasing sales is only one target as a result of these core values. Equally important is the way we interact with each other and our customers. The Phoenix Project is designed to focus us on bettering every aspect of what we do and how we do it.

The Phoenix Project is an ongoing effort by the entire company, and includes regular Phoenix Awards for employees who exemplify the values, a Phoenix Raffle, and a regular newsletter – The Phoenix Flyer – to keep our clients up to date on what the company is doing as a whole to model and maintain these core values.
