Water Filtration for Coffee
The First Ingredient is Water. Water is 99% of coffee by volume, and the number one neglected component in coffee!

The coffee industry neglects water, but not Mastercraft.  Why do others neglect water?  Because…water filtration “costs” the coffee service company.  It costs money for a filter, filter head, and labor to install them.  Plus the labor and filter costs to stay current with the filter changes.  

Routine maintenance takes organization, and effort to follow through.  So the path of least resistance wins, and the path of least resistance ultimately costs you, as the list below demonstrates.

More than 90% of the institutional coffee services do not filter the water for their customers.  Mastercraft is the exception. We pay the money so no matter what coffee you choose it tastes the best it can.

Mastercraft filters water, because…
1. Better tasting coffee:  Chicago City water has lots of chlorine, and chlorine makes coffee taste bitter.  Mastercraft removes the chlorine.
2. Other impurities can affect taste:  Our reduction of impurities to less than ½ of 1 micron means better tasting water.
3. Better Health:  Filtration sterilizes in the event bacteria were to enter your water supply this is a safer approach.
4. Reduce Lime Buildup:  Reducing lime build up makes equipment more dependable.

Water Cooler/Filtration Systems  
Mastercraft will install and maintain the water cooler/filtration systems, hereafter called either Breakstation or Oasis, on a lease basis for you. Water Quality
Water frequently takes on flavors considered unacceptable like chlorine, medicinal, fishy and musty tasting water.  Plus, water can become cloudy because of suspended particles floating in it.

People have addressed these water concerns in the past by purchasing bottled water.  Some bottled water is merely tap water that has been purified with a filter at the bottling plant. The cooler/filtration systems uses an activated carbon filter eliminating disagreeable tastes and odors while also removing 99.9% of all particles one half micron (1/50,000”) and larger.

Mastercraft’s recommendation is to skip the bottled water…“use the filter system.”

Advantages to Water/Cooler Filtration Systems VS Bottled Water:
Savings - Significantly less money on a per gallon basis. Costs are also fixed because you have virtually unlimited sparkling clear water at a touch of a finger.
Convenience - No bottles & no bottle storage.
Safety - No lifting injuries from the heavy bottles.
Dependability - No delivery interruptions.
Choice - You choose the type of cooler/filtration system.  Each   unit can have storage or no storage, and two temperature configurations either cook (room temperature) and cold, or hot/cook/cold.
Taste - As good, if not better, than bottled water, which is basically filtered tap water.
